Application development

Hello, I am not sure if this is the correct sub to post this in, so if it isn't then please let me know and i can take this down.

I have recently had what i believe to be is a great idea for a new application, i have 0 experience in software development of any kind so i come here for advice. I've been doing some reading on whether or not to go to a software firm, and i was wondering if anybody here can point me in the right direction. I believe my idea is something special and i would love to really commit to having this become a reality.
