Dev Culture Meetup

Reading Jessica Kerr's excellent post on the Origins of Opera and the Future of Programming inspired me to start a local meetup dedicated to developer culture.

I imagine a meetup where devs across the spectrum gather to discuss issues like dynamics, fears, personal growth, team-building, diversity and integration, etc.

I've tweeted a poll about such a meetup and the response was mixed. Out of 60 votes 51% were for and 49% were against. Some arguments that were raised against:

1. This topic is repetitive
2. The quality of talks on this topic are highly variable

Would you attend such a meetup? If not, why?
