Seeking advice on developing a large service oriented application

I worked with Fireabse and Ionic before. Is it a good idea to build a functioning application myself, to test out the idea in the market. And depending on the feedback:

-Get investors

-Adjust the functionalities to suite the market

-Hire a specialized team to remake the whole thing from scratch.
