Verb for updating/replacing deprecated code

I was wondering if there was a single, concise word people used to describe replacing deprecated code.

So instead of "I was removing the old deprecated protocol from the view controller and replacing it with the new thing" one might say " I [blanked] that one view controller." Something more specific than "cleaned up." Something more concise than, "I converted that thing to this new architecture." Just a single word one could use as a label on a PR for example.

Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.
