I’m wanting to have a software application developed but I’m not sure how to piece it together in a functional way.

I am in the early stages of opening a business (service based) and I can’t find a software that functions the way I want and I’m not keen the idea of working the business around the system.

I have specific ideas of certain aspects but I’m having a hard time tying them together at least enough so I could explain it to the developer. And (for me at least) it seems very complex because I want the database for the user’s business to function along different platforms. For example, having the “center of command” on the desktop where all functions can be performed and supplemental (mobile) apps (that function as user portals) that have limited functions for clients and employees, but all containing the same information, just limited access on for the employees and clients if that makes sense.

So some key functions so maybe you guys can get an idea of what I’m trying to piece together:

Web based application for desktop and mobile. Generally a management software. POS, appt book, clock in/out, employee management, stats, marketing, that kind of general stuff. What I wanted to do differently was have a mobile app for client portals to make appointments, see history, promotions, push notifications, that sort of thing. And then one for employees who can see their appointment details without having to go to the main system, edit notes for the appointments and client profiles also without having to go to the main system, and have their own dashboard specific to them and not the entire business.

I don’t know if that makes sense.

But in general how do I make a foundation for something so complex? I don’t know if I’m asking the right question. I hope I’m understood.
