Design tools for non OOP languages

Hello!
I've used UML to design projects done in OOP languages. But at the company we use non OOP languages like C. The only tool we have used for design is google draw -or paint- drawing boxes and lines.

Is there any tool to design in a better way? Should we use UML design tools for this projects too? How do you design for non OOP projects?
