How does your company make decisions that affect directly your way of working (e.g. technology stack, tools, processes, trainings etc)?

I saw companies that consult with employees, companies that actually let employees decide and others that hire consultants to decide or let it be handled by a single decision maker.

I wonder if people actually care about being involved in these decisions and under what form.

If you do not like the way your company handles this, how do you think ideally the decision process should work.
