Where do I start

Sorry if this information is already posted somewhere. My current title is a Data Scientist, my actual responsibilities are more that of an analyst (SQL, Tableau, etc). I am looking to get into learning to code and I hope to one day be a software developer. I am currently 22 years old.

I guess my first question is where do I start? I tried doing some research on google for a free software to start with but I didn’t get far. So, where do I start? What is a good software to use? What is a good first language to learn? What is an easy first project to work on?
