Nervous about React Native for Customers App

So I work for an agency that develops custom software. A customer is pushing to use React Native for a consumer app that will probably have alot of marketing power behind it and hopefully take off. The problem is our team feels there are some pretty big risks in using React Native.

1. It is not production ready – its in version 0.58
2. It is currently going through a "large scale rearchitecture" https://facebook.github.io/react-native/blog/2018/06/14/state-of-react-native-2018

Basically we feel like any line of code written for this application is incurring a large amount of technical debt instantly. Does anyone have any thoughts on React Native and its current state?
