Need ideas for Personal Bigdata Projects

I am Java developer and my Company requires a development goal for each employee from this year which requires us to learn any new technology of our choice and develop any application of our choice. So far I have worked on Spring, Hibernate frameworks and for the last couple of years I've been developing micro-services using Spring boot. I want to learn Bigdata/Hadoop Eco System (such as HDFS, Hbase, HIVE, Kafka, Spark and building data pipelines etc.) and Scala as part of my development goal. I have pluralsight subscription so I can learn these technologies but am thinking of working on a personal project so that I can learn Bigdata/Hadoop Eco System in depth, since my company doesnt have any big data related projects. Please help me with some ideas for personal big data projects.
