Are developers responsible for what their users post on their platforms?

I’ve been working on an app which lets users upload content and share it with their IRL friends.

It uses a P2P structure.

I’ve decided to make the entire app open source and free and what not, because there is no way I can moderate these tiny networks that are independent of each other. However, we have a problem where I can’t control what users post. The most I can do is let users block them.

As a developer, is it my job to control what users of my app can post?
