Writing code for personal use during commute – which laptop?

I have a 2 hour daily commute and have decided to use this time to work on Udemy flask / python / docker courses.

A lot of the lessons work better of you can repeat what the instructor is doing – spinning up a container, writing / running a script, etc.- so I'm looking for a lightweight mobile device that would be good for that. I'm partial to Macbook's, but I would not balk at recommendations for Microsoft Surface.

Internet access is sparse during my commute, so I need to download apps and clone repositories ahead of time. I can download Udemy videos to my phone or iPad, so the mobile device would just need to run python / docket/ ide (vscode).

Thoughts?
