The myth of engineering velocity: Pushing for engineers to code faster may not equate to faster deliverables

https://www.betbuildgo.com/blog/2019/8/10/myth-of-engineering-velocity

I encountered a bunch of inefficiencies in the SDLC going from big public companies to a small startup, and wrote up my thoughts in this post. In summary, we should be looking at a few other areas outside of just engineering speed:

  1. How long does it take for coding to start after a project kickoff?
  2. Are the product managers and engineers on the same page about requirement details?
  3. What other tasks are eating up your sprints?

Would love to hear everyone's thoughts!
