Why working as a software developer for a big corporation sucks

  1. I have to use Windows

  2. Windows is slow.

  3. Booting up Windows takes a lot of time.

  4. To be able to _anything_ you have to install GitBash.

  5. GitBash is slow.

  6. Installing a C compiler is easier said than done.

  7. ViM is a pain in the a** to setup and get it to work.

  8. Forced updates, even though I am in the middle of something.

  9. My manager logs in remotely and downgrades my installed software.

  10. I cant even change wallpaper, only my manager has access to that option.

  11. BIOS is locked so I cant even boot into linux through a USB stick.

  12. An anti-virus software is running that is preventing me from using software such as VMWare or Virtualbox, probably because they dont want me to virtualize Linux somehow.

  13. I have to use Visual Studio Code.

  14. I am not allowed to bring my own mouse or keyboard.
