Hello,
I'm fairly new in my company, been there less than a year. I have good college and project background in this area and a lead asked me to review some bugs costumers reported.
It's fairly complicated and all was done by the same senior developer. He is the only one who ever commited anything related to it. I found some issues and explained why the code doesn't work as expected. Project manager than asked me to discuss it with him and developer who wrote the code. All I explained was why it's not working as the customer wants, aware that it cannot work that way without destroying other functionalities, I did not say the code was bad, just why it's not functioning.
I feel like senior dev is acting offended that anyone dared to look at his code. I don't think he wants anyone to modify it as well. He is working on something else and doesn't have time to modify it now. I understand it pretty well and could do it but I don't want to do it because I am not sure what he will say. Everytime I talk to him it seems like he is annoyed. I don't know if he is just that type of person but yeah. I don't even want to work on those bugs but it's not me who picked it.
What can I do, act like I don't know anything or what. I think lead wants me to fix it but I feel like senior hates me 😀
