Are you active on Twitter or LinkedIn?

Which platform is better for connecting with other like-minded software developers? I have been using both of them for the last few years but only irregularly.

Twitter Case

I find Twitter to be a better source of news, programming tips, and discussions.

LinkedIn Case

I never really understood the advantage of LinkedIn for anything else than networking, so I tried to be very active for the last month and the result? The search function is fantastic because you can find and connect with developers by various categories (skills, companies, countries, etc.)

But I find all the content and posts being produced by Sales + Marketing + Legal and ofc. HR department—very little useful daily software content.

On the other hand, a good LinkedIn profile is a big plus when searching/applying for a position.

What platform do you prefer?
