How to actually learn Python?

Python is basically a skill I feel I'm missing. I know the syntax and basically nothing else. I don't have any professional opportunities to work with it, so I see no upcoming opportunity to learn it properly.

So my question: do you know any more complex challenge/tutorial that could translate into something more palpable, something that could give me a feeling of actually knowing what Python is?
