Freelancing while at university, what software have you found useful while freelancing your self?

So I'm going uni soon, I was wondering what software would be useful for me as a junior/intermediate developer to use to keep track of projects and to interface with clients or even just generally handy stuff that you picked up along the way that may aid me beginning out freelancing.
