Connecting an XBee S2C to a Samotech Sensor

I want to connect a XBee device to a doorsensor from samotech but XCTU cant establish a connection to the sensor. it says the sensor is available and active but if i wanna read the data, there is an error, saying, that the device is sleeping or not in the network.

can i even connect a non Digi or non XBee device or is this impossible.
