[Question] How do you know if your idea is unique enough?

I have had plenty of ideas that I have thought were a great idea. To find a product that was similar only moments later. This got rid of my motivation to work on this project because I want my work to be unique enough to be an attractive program rather than a copy cat. As a solo dev these projects will take a lot of time most likely so I try to find something I think is worth that investment. How do you get around this, does it even bother you?
