Software engineering and coding standards

I’m trying to implement a software engineering and coding standards in my organization.

A little background, I’m working with a data science team who most of them are not comp-sci or software engineers. They are either statisticians or other majors.

The goal is to have a standard so each codebase developed could be audited and reviewed. ISO/IEEE standard has not been helpful since it’s all about documentation and not code-related line items.

I would appreciate it if you could point me to some instances you have had in your team or seen in the industry that’s been effective.
