“Woke” Team Member Part II

OK so rather than reply to various comments I'm just doing a new post. Quick background: This team was operating for almost 2 years and for the past year has been demotivated by a checked-out manager who was gaming the workers disability system. The project fell seriously behind and I was recruited by past colleagues to bring the project back on track. That's what I do, usually it's as a consultant. There's no time for navel gazing or replacing a datastore etc. Everyone on the team was aware of this. Also, I am not some Trump loving conservative boomer. Not in the least.

So anyway. This morning I get an email from HR informing me that one of my team members is the target of an HR "investigation" after he went to them complaining about little miss woke. He came to me after the all team meeting letting me know he was going to request to move to a different team because he refused to work with her. This guy is Filipino with a Black wife (who overheard the whole thing and thought it was utterly ridiculous) . I told him I was going to fix this and to give me a few days but evidently he decided to go to HR and request the transfer anyway. I contacted HR and backed him up and brought my concerns. I was called out for my "inflexibly" and was told I needed to take some training classes. HR completely backed little miss woke. So… I quit. I don't need to deal with this and don't want to in the least. I was 4 days at the company. The people who recruited me are dumbfounded and are re-thinking their positions in the company.

Woke is a cancer. There is no value to it. It has nothing to do with "white privilege". Little miss woke is a porcelain, freckled skin woman with red hair and an Irish last name. Her ONLY contribution to the meeting was the complaints and lots of "guh"s and sighs. This was her 3rd day at the company (after the new entry training program). Everyone was tasked with writing up their view of the status of the project (or for the 2 new people providing constructive feedback on the state of the project from an outsider perspective) to discuss at the all-team meeting The other new person brought up actual actionable ideas. When its her turn miss woke comes screaming in with "I hate white people". Seriously. Then goes on to complain about the git repos still having a master branch etc. There is NO excuse for that behavior. There is no where to go with this person.

Please don't ask me what company this is. I'm under strict NDAs. You could infer which one(s) it could be from that.
