Do you need to purchase a code signing certificate to avoid the unverified publisher warning on Windows? I know for websites there's letsencrypt, which will give you a free ssl certificate based on domain ownership, but I haven't found anything like that for code signing. I'm not sure if self-signing will get rid of that warning.
