Why do integration platform developers like Mulesoft get so much $$$$

I've been working as a Integration Engineer for about 5 years now and I always see contracting jobs for Mulesoft, Boomi etc etc going for like $1000k+ day rates….. Am I missing something?

Why are these positions paying so much? Starting to think I should hang my boots up as a polyglot programmer and move to contracting using these platforms.

On a side note, anyone on here have experience in the contracting field as an integration engineer? Thinking about making the leap?
