Hey Guys!
I'm trying to dig deep into the broad field of Informational Technology (IT) and the professionals that have made this industry their career. I am in the field of loss mitigation and want to know more about what the day-to-day life of an IT professional looks like….professional life as well as personal life. I am specifically interested in professionals that are software engineers, webpage developers and individuals in the Ecommerce space.
What I am really interested in is the benefits of a career in IT, as well as the drawbacks?
Why did you pick IT as a career?
How has this career shaped your personal life?
How much of your career "bleeds" into personal life?
What is the biggest problem that you deal with in your day to day career? Why is it such a problem?
Have you come up with any solutions to this problem?
What, in your opinion, would be required to solve this problem?
What would happen if this problem is never solved?
What keeps you up a night?
If you could wave a magic wand and change anything about your personal and/or professional life, that would impact you daily, what would it be?
How has this career impacted your physical and emotional health?
With the flexibility of the IT field, how often do you seek new employment?
For those who seek new employment, what is your reasoning for the new employer? Is it a financial, benefits, or is it a better work/life balance decision?
A few questions about you
What is your age?
How long have you been in the IT field?
What are your professional titles?
Are you self employed or do you work for a company?
Thank you for all your help and I will use this information to try to better understand the people that that have made IT their career of choice.
