Developer wanting to Transition to Management

I am a senior software developer and I know I have reached the end of wanting to progress any further down the development track. I have lost interest in furthering my technical skills and instead I have turned my attention to project management, mentoring, and changing the organizational culture. Has any one gone through this and how did you transition?
