Hello,
I work as an audio director and composer, and have been doing that for 10 years. I also work with audio implementation in games, but I wouldn't consider myself a developer.
Can someone shed some light on this curiosity: it seems utterly impossible to get Autosave to work reliably in any application. At least on macOS. The question is: Why is that?
In my business the forums are filled with people who lost work even though autosave is on in multiple applications, with equal amount of answers saying "you should never rely on autosave, always save manually". But WHY SHOULD we have to do that?
Currently I use Nuendo (Steinberg software) set to 20 min intervall. Yet, when a project has crashed, last autosave was done 50 minutes ago. I don't understand why. Same goes for all other apps I've used.
Is this something that has technical challenges, or is it just that audio developers seem to lack the skillset?
