Returning to MacOS after long. Please help with setting development environment.

Hi, I am using a Macbook after many years and want to setup development environment for web and mobile development. My concerns are:

– is `brew` still the way to go to install software?

– are macos dotfiles still used? Most of the ones that I used to use are outdated, like the one by mathiasbynens.

– how is fig (fig.io) for command line?
