Hi,
Firstly, apologies if this is the wrong group for this and delete if necessary. I am a uni student in the UK and have an idea for a startup that potentially utilizes expired rewards points. I thought that here would be the best place to ask.
So, the question is as what the title states; can expired rewards points still exist as data and therefore be re-used?
I ask this because while live, rewards points have a certain monetary value ascribed to them. e.g 100 rewards points are worth £1 in store when in someone's account. Also, I read an article that stated £13m worth of rewards points were missed out on due to expiry.
When expired, instead of voiding the points when the date of expiry has passed, is it possible keep them 'live' but take them away from the customer? Or at least can the points exist as fungible data points?
again, if this is the wrong place apologies. I'm open to any suggestions/thoughts you may have.
Thanks
[edit] I've just noticed the typo in the title: *Can*
