Customer wants a secure database. Curious what you guys would propose

My team usually develops 3 tier apps using AWS and we do custom development obviously re-using components both for backend and frontend.

Here, a request lands on my table to provide a database with a UI and with scoped access (read only, read & write).

On my side, I would follow my usual process

• Code a custom solution using AWS for the backend and provide a simple frontend for view and CRUD. We already have all the ingredients.

Some colleagues advice to go for an off-the-shelf SaaS for the request. Do you know of any good one ? Is this really better than my proposed approaches ?
