Hi yall,
I want to build a custom app, with the purpose of eventually distributing it to other users. The idea involves taking multiple camera inputs, images rendered over each other, and outputting as a virtual webcam or to NDI. It also needs to render multiple windows (kind of like a keynote presentation).
I have built programs in many different languages (python, Java, web languages like Javascript, etc) and already made a proof of concept in TouchDesigner (a node based live performance software) and want to now build it as a standalone app.
I've looked into Electron, Qt, GTK, and Tauri, and am left a little stumped on what to sink my teeth into. I want a healthy balance of performance/capabilities for the graphics rendering and camera capture, as well as modern feeling UI without reinventing the wheel. As far as I understand the web-based frameworks won't work for me, and Qt seems like the best option so far, albeit more complex and expensive.
Any ideas or insights that can help me decide on what to use? Thank you in advance.
