If I build a form filler extension specifically for my employers internal CMS – do I own it?

Existing form filler extensions don’t gel well with our internal CMS system at work. If I build a bespoke one for work, will I own it? Or will they take ownership? I can see it being valuable to them and something they could potentially even pay me for, but I’m not sure where I’d stand
