I work on a team that develops and maintains apps used by internal employees. Our portfolio is up to around 40 in-prod applications now and is a mix of SaaS, PaaS, and custom built apps.
We don't have a separate application support team. We have to maintain everything we build. This means our full stack developers often spend lots of their time troubleshooting and fixing bugs. We have about 6 devs constantly working on multiple applications in one sprint (yeah, we do "scrum"…that's another topic for another day, though).
I guess my question is: is this common? In my previous company, there were application development teams and then separate app maintenance teams that did troubleshooting and fixes for bugs. What's more common?
