Separate front-end standup

My company is split up in different product teams which all have specialised front-end and back-end developers. Each product team has a standup every morning to check how everything is going. After this standup we also introduced a second standup for front-end developers only. The idea was to help other developers if they ran into problems or help answer some questions. Since all front-end apps use the same technologies we also hoped it would help keep the consistency during the development process.

The problem is that almost everyone is working in a different product team, so the status update of what we are working on will mostly be irrelevant to the other developers. The meeting has low engagement and feels more like a necessity or a burden. I've also heard that some developers of the same product team also have a product team front-end standup, which would result in three standups a day.

I'm looking for ways to improve this workflow by removing these meetings while still trying to maintain consistency. Has anyone ever dealt with this? How did you solve this issue?
