Can anyone recommend a basic video trimming program for mac?

Googling this is fruitless, it has become such a cesspool I can’t tell what’s an advertisement, what’s an actual company, what’s a third-party advertisement etc.

I need to trim the intro and ending credits off of some tv series I have saved as mp4 files. I’m looking for something that works on a Mac, similar to iMovie, but something that would save an MP4 format. That mov file type iMovie uses makes the files HUGE, when they should conceivably be getting smaller because I’m removing material.

Any suggestions would be great, thank you.
