SWE is intimidating

I am currently interning at a company and while I’m a an okay programmer, I’m bad at SWE. I’m good at writing and understanding code, but what confuses me is how pieces of software communicate and exchange information, using aws, writing tests, hearing the words “staging environment” “production” “deployment” and a lot of other things How do I go from someone who can write simple files to someone who can understand software as a whole?
