Do I need to visit my nearest app development company to develop my app?

I want to create an app for my business. I want to know if all the work can be done just by sitting at home by hiring an app development company to develop my desired app, or do I need to visit the company physically?

I want to know if I need to rely on a company which is near to my location so I can visit that company and meet them face to face to talk about the the kind of app I want, etc etc, or everything can be done just by sitting at home?

If everything can be done just by sitting at home, then can I choose any good app development company which has a good reputation and good experience in app development and get my app developed just by sitting at home?
