Test Automation Solution

Hi All, what would you suggest as a best approach to manage a test automation sequence that needs to run several cases, over many days, capturing data, and have a dynamic configuration (every test may be slightly different). My high level thought is python interface with the HW, collect data, store (in batches) to a RDB and excel file. A JSON file is used as a configuration, and loaded into the test application, which is parsed by Python to then execute the relevant methods. The other option is some open source tool like Kiwi TCMS, or Nitrate?
