How to code on cloud? pls help

Hi, I am a new developer. Recently, I tried Docker for an open-source project, but it crashed after running a few containers. After investigating the cause of this problem, I found that my storage was full. Docker with WSL was taking up more than 50 gigs, and there was no way I could have freed up that much space on my local machine. So, I started looking for a solution where I could run a Linux instance online on any cloud platform and connect it to my VS Code on my local machine. However, I'm not sure if there is a service provider that offers this. That's why I'm posting here for help. i am also broke so it would be great if the service has a free tier.
