How to learn software development, (self taught)?

Good evening everyone I really enjoy Computers learning about them, etc. I always wanted to understand how to be a software developer not for any career motives. I just wanna have it as a skill and if it could benefit me career wise or get me some sort of income that’s cool, but I’m mostly interested in in coding and software development as a hobby so so far I picked up python and I think I’m doing pretty good but what other skills or things would I need to dive into besides a coding language to understand software development? I appreciate any help at all. Thank you.
