How software development worked in the 2000s at Microsoft?

Is there anyone who can give me some detailed information about this? I'm curious about the version control system they used that time, the method how the development worked ( how they committed files, filesharing ), what methodology they used at developing ? I'm all ears 😀 I'm reading a lot about the good old windows me, how bad it was and so on, interested in the topic so much. I also appreciate some thoughts in general how development worked at that time.
