I want to start my first project that is intended to go out for other people to use.
There is one thing that I am really undecisive about. And that is how I associate my identity with that.
So far for play projects I used only a pseudonym, and set the email to <>.
To get orientation how to handle licenses I looked at the REUSE project.
I also looked at many software projects and frameworks I know.Licensess seem to be a mess.
But it's really common that the people use the real name in the license and often provide a email. The same goes for the lib or binary metadata.
Is this common ground? I am open to add my clear name to my git config and the source forges and don't see big problem with that. But I am afraid that any email I put into the commits, source files or to the forges gets spammed to death quite soon.
I may be going to rename my accounts to a persona I created recently and use the email I used for that. So far that email alias is only used for logins with that persona and I wouldn't mess up my really personal mail adress and could filter them to an extra folder.
Howdoo you handle this, any feedback?
