SCRUM master is leaving the building

This week our team received particular good news. Our company is doing really bad and needs to cut 8 million on IT alone because of terrible board decisions during COVID. On its own that is pretty bad off course but we try to stay positive. This week we heard that our SCRUM master will leave on the 1st of July because of the cuts. Hooray! Hooray! He’s not on our payroll but scraping 150 Euros an hour as a contractor.

This Thursday we had our sprint review, retro and planning. What a reoccurring bullshit every 3 weeks. And with only two weeks left, the guy with the bullshit job (SM) wanted to make his self useful for the time left. He asked us how he could be of use for the two weeks…………Total silence. Amazing. Haha. After a day of brain draining SCRUM ceremonies that silence gave me all energy for the coming week.

Even better news….we don’t get a new SCRUM master.
