If you were going to create a piece of augmented reality software, what platform would you choose?

There's a lot of fledgling AR software platforms out right now– especially interested in stuff that's spiritual successors to Google Glass. Any up-and-comers there? What would be the best relatively future-proof platform to develop something on?
