Been doing construction since I was 16 and civil engineering last 10 years. Worked my way up to managing teams on large construction projects, but really had to grind to get here. The industry is stuck in old ways with obscene amounts of red tape and toxic personalities, I think I’m just done with the whole industry.
Seems tech has a good culture around it, and the exposure I had in the past to programming I really enjoyed. But I do worry about getting into another toxic work environment where peers and employees think I’m weird for being older (35M)
