How do you submit your work to clients as freelancers?

I'm new to freelancing, I'm a python developer and I need some way to deliver my code to clients. I rely extensively on git/github in my work and I think it's maybe a good idea to submit my work by granting the client access to clone and use my repo which will also facilitate future maintenance. Is it a good idea or is there a more professional way?
