Have social skills helped you in your career?

Me and some friends who are curently working as fullstack developer just talked about our lives and how much it changed over the time. After some time we started to talk about careers and came to the conclusion that if we had better social skills sooner, we would have been so much further in our careers. Which is why I am wondering would you have wished for better social skills in your career as well?
