Question on website issue

Hi – Not sure where to ask my pleb question, but you guys seem helpful!

I went to a website and I called the number listed to cancel an order. The number was wrong, but that company was able to tell me the number for the right company.

When I called the right company, I told them the issue. They told me "they are aware, but can't figure out why." They said it depends on which browser you are using.

What would cause something like this to happen? I'm just curious.
