Can someone recommend a text editor that does not use tabs (always opens new instance), has syntax highlighting, dark mode/theme, and preferably cross platform?

I can't seem to find one. Everything I have tried uses tabs or a side pane for files, and refuses to open a new instance without ridiculous manual modifications to shortcuts or settings files. Even those either lacked dark theme or were not cross platform.

I also don't want any sort of auto completion. None. VSCode has me in a rage about it because it wouldn't stop trying to type for me. No matter what settings I disabled.

Basically, does anyone know of Notepad with syntax highlighting and dark theme?
