[x-post]: Does software development run on design thinking?

Question for the group! (full disclosure: I asked the same to the software engineering sub lol)

I don't know much of anything in this realm, but recently published a how-to-startup framework and got a lot of interest from devs + designers. It's a design thinking-based system, which seemed important. What makes that such a big draw for the engineering/dev crowd? Should we lean into it?
